Cotton jersey knit is a lightweight, soft, and stretchy fabric that offers both comfort and durability.
Made from natural cotton and elastane, this fabric is especially pleasant to wear thanks to cotton's breathable and gentle qualities, while elastane provides a bit of stretch for freedom of movement. It is ideal for everyday clothing, children's wear, and sportswear.
Sewing tips:
When sewing with cotton jersey knit, it is recommended to use Jersey or Stretch needles, which are specially designed for stretchy fabrics. These needles have a rounded tip that allows them to glide easily between the knit fibers without damaging the fabric. The needle size usually depends on the fabric thickness, but sizes 70/10 or 80/12 are often suitable for cotton jersey knit.
