Cotton knitwear (Jersey) is a lightweight, soft, and stretchy fabric that provides both comfort and durability.
With a composition of natural cotton and elastane, this fabric is especially pleasant to wear, thanks to the breathable and gentle properties of cotton, while elastane adds a slight stretch that ensures freedom of movement. It is perfect for everyday clothing, children's wear, and also sportswear.
Sewing tips:
When sewing with cotton knitwear (Jersey), it is recommended to use Jersey or Stretch needles, which are specially designed for stretchy fabrics. These needles have a rounded tip that allows them to easily slide between the knit fibers without damaging the fabric. The needle size usually depends on the fabric thickness, but for cotton knitwear, sizes 70/10 or 80/12 are often suitable.
