Until the mid-19th century, there were no issues with styling. In most cases, everything a woman wore was her own handiwork. Silhouettes and decorations were canonical, the composition and manner of wearing were the only correct ones, and the concept of "going out of fashion" did not exist. At least not within a single person's lifetime.

🌀 Now everything has changedFashion cycles are fast, there is no dominant style, and multiple fashion standards coexist simultaneously.

On one hand, it is beneficial for us because for the first time in the history of clothing, we can orient ourselves according to our own taste and express individuality.

On the other hand, too many choices can confuse and disorient. It's a shame to spend money on a liked piece of clothing that ultimately doesn't get worn. Even sadder if it was sewn by oneself. Not only money is wasted, but also time and effort.

In the lecture, we will discuss the most important questions to clarify when choosing a model to sew and selecting the fabric for it.

3 basic pillars 🏛️, on which the impression of the clothing item and the entire set is based:
• Silhouette or dress 👗
• Color 🎨
• Invoice or material surface properties ✨

FORM
Masculine, feminine, or neutral forms.
What silhouette do I want to give myself with the help of clothing, and how to connect it with the body's possibilities.
"Support" points - shoulders and waist. Does everyone need padding and a strap?
How the legs dictate the length of pants and skirts.

COLOR
"Like the color or pattern!" - is one of the most common motives for choosing fabric.
Even without naming the color, we can describe them as strong or quiet.
Color effects on the body – does light really make you look bigger, and dark makes you look slimmer? And what about patterns?

INVOICE
In addition to the physical properties of the invoice (being flexible, tactilely pleasant, transparent, water-repellent, etc.), stylists are more interested in the "fine chemistry."
Plastic vs non-plastic textures. Textures that visually rejuvenate the wearer vs "aging". Visually expensive textures vs visually cheap.

Let's take the opportunity to view and touch real fabrics on-site to better understand what it's all about.

During the interactive lecture, participants will gain knowledge about the emotional impact of silhouette, visual correction techniques (how to visually lighten the silhouette), color perception and optical illusions in clothing, and the properties of texture from a stylistic perspective.

The result is a reduced likelihood that the seamstress will choose a model, color, and texture that do not flatter her appearance and image.
