I have been thinking for a long time that it is necessary to create some helpers for prettier seams. In winter, I got into sewing sweaters and this rounded little helper is perfect for perfectly fitting collars. I am sharing a FREE pattern and tutorial on how to make it.

Have you ever tried using one?
A firmly filled, rounded pressing form, the tailor's ham is indispensable for pressing curved or shaped seams – I believe it will be a very useful addition to your existing sewing tools.
Pressing straight, flat seams is relatively simple, however, curved or shaped seams can pose a greater challenge. This is where a tailor's ham can make ironing easier. The rounded edge of the ham helps shape the seams while pressing and can also assist the iron in reaching awkward areas.
YOU WILL NEED:
- Top fabric (wool, linen or cotton, with a tight weave so it can be filled very firmly)
- Order fabric (linen or cotton)
- Thread
- Filling (wood chips, fabric scraps, wool)
- Šujmašīna
- knee pads or clamps
- chalk, soap or some fabric pen
- Šķēres
- adata

Required time: ~20 minutes, sewing some fifth you will have trained your skills it will take you only 10 minutes.
FABRICS
Cut out 4 equal-sized pieces from the fabric shape, I used unbleached linen for the outer fabric and cotton fabric for the lining.
So it comes to 2 pieces of cotton and 2 pieces of linen.
Make sure the fabrics are natural (synthetics will wear out) and have a tight weave so that the filling does not come out.
GET STARTED WITH SEWING
You can sew by hand, with a sewing machine, or with an overlocker.
I sewed with the BERNINA L 460 overlocker, because since I got an overlocker at home, I sew a lot of things specifically with the overlocker, as it is more convenient and faster for me.
Sew the edges – leaving an opening of about 10 cm.
TURN TO THE RIGHT SIDE AND PLACE LINED INSIDE
FILL
The filling material can be made from fabric scraps, wool, shavings.
I chose to buy chips at Zoo stores.
Choose non-flammable, natural materials for the filling. When using chips, make sure they are hardwood chips, as spruce chips can leave resin residues!
This is quite a time-consuming stage. To ensure the little one holds its shape well - tightly, because the shavings are tightly compressed. Now squeeze it from the heart!
SEW IT SHUT
