As our client and a creative entrepreneur, she is a great example of how a hobby can transform into a successful business and create something truly unique.

1. How did your journey into the world of sewing begin, and what inspired you to take up this art?
Unconsciously, I took my first steps into the world of sewing while still in elementary school, attending a sewing club at the Cēsis Children and Youth Center. I don't really remember what the reason was, but most likely a school friend encouraged me, and certainly, it was also because there weren't as many clothes available in stores back then as there are now, and everyone wants to dress up and not fall behind others. After finishing high school, my sewing journey also came to a halt, but a huge... THANK YOU The sewing teacher Mudīte from CBJC about the foundations she instills in her students. Ten years later, when I was expecting my firstborn, I noticed that there were Lifelong Learning courses for adults in sewing available in Cēsis, taught by a wedding dress designer, a native of Cēsis, Zane Zaharaova. Without thinking long, I signed up, with the idea that it would be a way to escape on dark autumn evenings and that I could sew a blanket for my baby and a linen dress for myself, but in life, everything turned out so that for the past three years I have been the creator and manager of the women's clothing brand DEJAMOON.

2. What are the main values and principles that guide your work at Dejamoon?
1. Quality
2. Individuality and self-expression
3. Sustainability

3. What are your favorite fabric choices and how do they influence your design creation?
I like different fabrics, it all depends on the season. In summer, I really like natural materials - linen, cotton, viscose, muslin. If I ever thought that I would never sew or sell anything made of polyester, then right now polyester satin, from which we sew slip dresses and skirts, is the best-selling product of the Dejamoon brand. This fabric is a real find!

I really like lace and tulle, because with these materials, clothes can take on a completely different character.
4. What are the main challenges faced by seamstresses, and how do you overcome them?
If sewing the clothing doesn't look even close to what you imagined :) This happens quite often, as it's rare for any of the new products to turn out right the first time. I am lucky to have a very skilled constructor who quickly understands my ideas, but sometimes we have to sew up to five samples before we reach the perfect result.
I really don't like to alter and repair clothes, so I prefer to sew from scratch.
My mom knows that you can't come to me with a request - to replace a broken zipper :)
5. What is your best hack for sewing?
There are days that are simply not meant for sewing. I have accepted it and no longer resist; if something is completely not working out and I have already tried 3 times, then I set everything aside and go home. I come back the next day with a fresh mind and everything goes as it should. Trust me, give it a try!
6. What are your future plans and projects in the sewing field, and what new trends are you observing in this industry?
I will continue what I started, as I see that I am on the right path and the ladies like what I create. I want to work more on ensuring that all the clothes I sew can be combined as much as possible, allowing my clients to create a mini capsule wardrobe.
People are tired of the uniform offerings of supermarkets, so they are looking for something unique, with a twist.
That's why I will continue working on upcycled shirts, I think this is one of the future fashion trends. I personally really enjoy this process because each upcycled shirt is unique, you will never meet exactly the same one on the street, of course, there may be a similar style, but it will never be 1:1 like yours.

Linda is proof that passion and perseverance can lead to great success. Her Dejamoon The brand combines quality, individuality, and sustainability, offering women unique and carefully crafted clothing. Linda's story inspires not only to dream but also to boldly take steps towards their goals.
